On January 30th, 2020, the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a public health emergency of international concern, and in early February the WHO recognized it as an epidemic. On February 24th the WHO confirmed that there are now multiple epidemics in different parts of the world.
Our travel insurance policies do not cover losses arising from epidemics or pandemics. We strongly recommend you to get informed on your travel destinations before you purchase any travel plans.
You should also monitor official updates regarding the Coronavirus at the following sources:
- to follow travel advisories and recommendations.
- to be informed on the outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) worldwide.
IMPORTANT: Given the rapid rise in travel bans, please first ensure that no travel ban is in place during your dates of travel prior to purchasing a travel insurance policy. Policies purchased during a known travel ban will not be valid during that period. We therefore highly recommend NOT to purchase travel insurance policies when such conditions exist
