There is no lower limit - we can however only cover groups up to 100 travellers.
Do all travellers need to depart and return together?
Yes. Group cover applies to travellers sharing the same itinerary and dates.
Can we add people to the group after purchasing the policy?
No - you cannot as the price of the travel insurance depends on the number of travellers - you will not be able to add more travellers o nthe same policy. You will need to buy a second policy with the new travellers.
What if one person cancels — does the whole group lose cover?
It is important to understand that the premium you pay when you buy your travel insurance depends on a number of factors including the number of travellers. If only 10 travellers are actually travelling while you booked your travel insurance with 15 travellers, that means that you pad extra. If the size of the group changes after you purchase your policy, you should cancel your current policy and purchase a new one. That is why, we recommend you to purchase your group policy once you have confirmation on the details of your trip.
Is each traveller covered for the same amount?
Yes, unless otherwise specified in your custom group policy.
Is group cover cheaper than buying individual policies?
It depends on how the travel insurance premium is calculated by the insurance company. It makes things easier for the admin who has one single policy document for all the travellers.
What documents are needed for a group Schengen visa?
You’ll need the Allianz group policy document showing names, dates, and benefits. We provide this upon purchase as a Certificate of Insurance.
Can we get coverage for risky activities like skiing or hiking?
Each individual can submit their own claim. The group organiser can also assist centrally if preferred. To make a claim, you will need to provide us with details of the incident that occured while you were on your trip. To file a claim, you can use our Online Claim Portal or you can reach out to us through our call center. In case of a medical emergency, you can contact us 24/7.
