Luggage Insurance from Allianz Travel helps you recover costs when your baggage is lost, damaged, stolen, or delayed during your trip. You’ll receive financial compensation based on the cost to repair or replace your luggage, minus any applicable depreciation, as outlined in your policy.

Cover is included in most Allianz Travel plans, but terms and exclusions apply—so you’re never caught off guard.

Allianz Travel provides reimbursement for:

Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Luggage: The lesser of the cost to repair the item or replace it with a similar item, minus 10% depreciation per year (max 50%).

Delayed Baggage: Reimbursement for essential purchases (e.g. toiletries, clothing) if your baggage is delayed for a minimum time as specified in your policy.

 • Receipts required for full reimbursement.

 • No Receipts Limit applies if receipts are unavailable.

 • Applicable only for outbound travel.

High-Value Item Theft: Covered if you provide a police report and proof of ownership.

Items with No Proof of Purchase: 50% of the replacement cost is covered.

Mobile Phones: Covered if reported to the network provider and blocked.

  • Animals or their remains
  • Vehicles, trailers, and related equipment
  • Contact lenses, glasses, hearing aids
  • Passports, deeds, documents, or currency
  • Medical equipment, medication, perishables
  • Fragile items, art, antiques, rugs, or carpets
  • Weapons, firearms, ammunition
  • Items for business use or that you do not personally own
  • High-value items stolen from any car
  • Baggage that is:
  1. Unattended in unlocked vehicles
  2. Visible in locked cars
  3. Shipped outside of travel carrier custody

To submit a claim, you must:

  • Submit a written report to local authorities, your carrier, hotel, or tour operator within 24 hours
  • Provide original receipts or other proof of purchase
  • Report theft of high-value items to the police and retain a case reference
  • Report stolen mobile phones to your service provider
